Antique Period Solid Elm Windsor Armchair

Description

This antique Elm Windsor Armchair does have a lot of age & is in good original condition. As you can see from the images, it does have usage marks, indentations, etc. However, that's all part of the charm & character of this piece. It's beautifully made & you can see the original dowels that join everything up showing. This chair is also structurally sound. This is help by the wonderful construction & 'U' shaped stretcher between the legs. I'm not really experienced in dealing with this sort of country furniture, so dating it for me is hard. I would say it's at least 18th century, but might actually be older. Also, it may not be elm, but might be yew wood, or have elements of both. This chair would also definitely benefit from a good clean & wax polish to bring out a better colour.

Height – 34 inches, 86 cm

Arm height – 26 inches, 66 cm

Seat height – 17 inches, 43 cm
