Marylebone Antiques has dated this piece to the 1800s.
The next oldest is from 1813, published in Liverpool by Nuttall, Fisher & Dixon. This one also has some damage to the spine, it looks as though it may have been repaired; all is intact but again, this must be handled with care. The third dates from 1844, and was published in Glasgow by Blackie & Son. This one is structurally very sound, but as with all of these extremely old books, must be handled with care! All three have beautiful illustrations, and have beautifully worn covers with plenty of patina and character. It's hard to get a sense of the scale in the images, but these are really quite huge and very impressive. We will not post these, delivery only by hand by a courier due to the fragile nature, we can get delivery quotes to anywhere. Collection in person also welcome.
