Camden Antiques has dated this piece to the 1880s.
The rectangular top is inset with a hand dyed traditional leather hide with blind and gilt tooled decorations to the edges. The desk top , and all of the drawer fronts are in burr walnut. To the front there is an arrangement of 8 drawers (the bottom drawer to one pedestal being double depth), to the verso is a traditional arrangement of 9 drawers. All fitted with their original charming solid walnut bun handles. Sympathetically refinished in our workshops to a very high standard and now offered for sale in excellent condition, ready to go straight into the home or office.
