Summer Landscape - Antique Oil Painting

1920 - 1940
Description

Signed oil on canvas by the Belgium artist Florimond Bruneau - Belgium School (1877 - 1956). The painting shows a French landscape with a stormy sky. It is mounted in a quality moulded frame and slip.

Bruneau was an artist and designer. He painted the landscapes of Flanders, Ardennes, France and Netherlands.

His earlier style was more impressionist but he then moved towards a more post-impressionist and solid style.

He was a friend of M. De Ghelderode and has paintings in the Schaerbeek commune which paid tribute in 1989.

As well as being mentioned in various books of art he also has work in the Musées Royaux des Beaux-Arts de Belgique, Bruxelles.
