Pair Antique English Sterling Silver Photograph Frames by Henry Matthews

Description

A fabulous pair of English Edwardian photograph frames by the well renowned silversmith, Henry Matthews.

The sterling silver has a planished background, the elegant shape of the frame with a pretty raised border; the oval aperture outlined by a raised ribbon and reed border. To the top of each is a vacant circular cartouche.

The reverse side of the frames is joy, each retaining the original velvet backing with a folding easel back stand, the velvet in amazing condition being well over 100 years old.

Each is fully hallmarked for Birmingham 1903; excellent condition measuring 7" x 5 1/4" with a glazed aperture measuring 5" x 3 1/2".
