Fine Coromandel & Silver Plated Tray

A very unusual fine Victorian coromandel and silver plate tray.
The tray has a coromandel wood centre with a silver plated pierced gallery edge and feet.
The centre panel is mahogany with coromandel wood veneer and is marquetry inlaid with flowers, swags and ribbons.
The pierced and concave silver plated gallery edge is rococo in style with figures, masks and scrolling acanthus and four shaped and pierced feet.
The silver plate has a maker's mark for 'R.Favell Elliot & Co' of London from 1883-1891 and the number 4162.
The centre of the tray has an oval silver plated plaque engraved with a flowing script that looks like the letters 'M L R'.
The tray is in good condition with a few old marks to the top and the silver plate has been rubbed from the plaque in the centre. (Circa 1890)
