This is a fine quality and rare turn of the century (c1900) regulator clock. It is a precision instrument in good working order and excellent condition throughout. The movement has recently been cleaned and fully serviced professionally including the replacement of the original gut by a new steel wire cased in a protective material.
The movement is signed Winternaiden Germany. It has a dead beat escapement, power maintenance mechanism to keep the clock going during winding or the pendulum stopping for a short time, precision adjustment screws to regulate the beat accurately and what is unusual to me the winding keyhole is through the centre of the hour hand mounting.
The silvered dial is in good condition without any noticeable wear.
The case of honey coloured oak is in original and in excellent condition.
The clock comes with the original pendulum with an invar metal rod, a winding key and key to lock the case.
NB. The circular flat pendulum bob shown has been replaced by an original cylindrical type appropriate for this clock.
