Rare Soumac Marriage Rug. Circa 1890

Description

Rare late 19th. century Caucasian Soumac flat woven marriage rug with repeat geometric square motifs to central field and geometric and 'running dog' borders. All in fine condition with some wear commensurate with its age and with 'running dog' border missing at one end. Wonderful vegetable dye colours. Very seldom seen is such condition.
