The Vintage Wrist Watch Company has dated this piece to the 1950s.
The watch has a 21-jewel automatic movement which is working nicely.
The watch measures 33mm diameter excluding the winding crown and the lugs. The case is 9 carat gold and there are hallmarks inside the screw on case back for Birmingham 1955 with a case maker's mark for Aaron Dennison, a prolific case maker who supplied various watch makers with cases.

The dial has a handsome textured finish, original hands, centre seconds hand and outer minute markers. The Rotary name is faint and there is a little darkening to the dial but overall it has a charming look typical of the 1950s.
A “new old stock” leather strap has been fitted.
The watch comes in a vintage Rotary presentation box.
