Description

A very handsome photograph frame made by the silversmith R Burbridge for the luxury London retailer, Harrods of Knightsbridge; this frame would have been an expensive piece over 100 years ago.

The elegant design incorporates a simple ribbon and reed raised border, the silver wrapping around the sides of the frame. This is the most sought-after style of frame, the easel back allowing it to be used either in a landscape or portrait configuration. The backing is made from solid English Oak.

The frame is fully hallmarked on the side for London 1915 and is stamped "Harrods" on the back.

Excellent condition measuring 6 3/4" x 4 7/8" with a glazed aperture measuring 5 1/4" x 3 3/8".
