Puckerings has dated this piece to the Edwardian era.
These stamps are protected with the original bevelled glass covered held in place with a highly decorative frame. The lid lifts to reveal the double compartment interior.

The underside of the lid is gilded and the full hallmark is revealed for the highly collectable Chester assay office and the year 1902, Edwardian in era. The makers initials are also present for the well renowned silversmith, Nathan and Hayes.

I have shown a tiny discoloration in the corner of the red penny stamp purely for accuracy.
A fine example in excellent condition measuring 3" x 2 1/8" x 1 1/8".
