Behind the top astral-glazed doors are two separate compartments, each with independent adjustable shelves which slide out on inset grooves. This enables each section to work independently with different shelf heights. The bottom panelled cupboards also have two independent storage spaces. There is a dental moulding below the cornice, plus three carved capitols above grooved flat columns. These represent Corinthian Columns. There are two brushing slides in the middle & it sits on a strong plinth base. The insides backs of both sections are polished mahogany. This bookcase is of high quality, extremely functional, holding a lot of books & is a great looking piece of furniture. It also comes apart into two sections for easier transportation.
