Description

Very impressive large antique mahogany bookcase over cupboard in good condition & dating from around the 1930’s period. Please enlarge all the images, especially the one with the doors open to appreciate all the fine features & the understand the functionality. Behind the top astral-glazed doors are two separate compartments, each with independent adjustable shelves which slide out on inset grooves. This enables each section to work independently with different shelf heights. The bottom panelled cupboards also have two independent storage spaces. There is a dental moulding below the cornice, plus three carved capitols above grooved flat columns. These represent Corinthian Columns. There are two brushing slides in the middle & it sits on a strong plinth base. The insides backs of both sections are polished mahogany. This bookcase is of high quality, extremely functional, holding a lot of books & is a great looking piece of furniture. It also comes apart into two sections for easier transportation.
