Elegant Antique English Sterling Silver Photograph Frame by Mappin and Webb - 1908

Description

A beautifully shaped photograph frame made from English sterling silver with a solid Oak backing with a folding easel stand.

The edge is decorated with a linear design punctuated with floral motifs; the oval aperture is surrounded with a raised border with a ribbon tied at the bottom into a bow.

The silver is fully hallmarked for Sheffield 1908, Edwardian in era together with the maker's initials for the well renowned silversmith, Mappin and Webb.

Pretty as a picture, this gem of frame remains in excellent condition measuring 7 3/4" x 6 1/2" with an oval aperture measuring 5" x 3 3/8".
