A superb Japanese Meiji period silvered bronze okimono of a peacock, beautifully detailed with individually chiseled feathers throughout, it has gold highlights on its legs, side feathers and head plume with shakudo claws & beak, including further shakudo & gold decoration picked out to highlight the birds famous tail feathers. This splendid okimono is signed Gyokou on a gold tablet on the underside and is in excellent condition measuring 19 inches in length..
