Description

Antique Victorian mahogany leather top pedestal desk in great original condition & full of character. It has a polished back, a tooled leather writing surface & the pedestals sit on plinth bases. The drawers have turned mahogany handles, original locks & fine dovetails. What’s particularly nice is the high kneehole height. Normally it’s 24? 61 cm high, so this one is very generous in height. This desk is also that nice in-between size – not too large & not too small. It’s very good quality too & has those classic Victorian corners & thumbnail mouldings. I would date this to around the 1860’s period.
