Japanese Meiji Period Patinated Bronze Tiger Okimono

A large Japanese Meiji period patinated bronze okimono of a prowling tiger, his tail extended with his back half low to the ground, front legs planted and jaws gaping as he roars. Highly detailed with richly patinated stripes down the length of his body and a longer coat around the cheeks, neck and underside, this well observed bronze has been superbly finished including glass eyes, it is in excellent condition with no damage and is a good size at 27 inches in length.
