1917 Marconi 'Trench' or 'Officers' Watch

1900 - 1920
Description

A 1917 Marconi 'trench' or 'officers' style wristwatch. A silver case with fixed bar lugs and a hinged case back. An enamel dial with large Arabic numerals and 'cathedral' hands. A 15 jewel manual wind Marconi lever mechanism. A silver case with London import marks for 1917. The inner case back is stamped with the W&D stamp, which was the sponsor mark Rolex used at this time.

Marconi were one of the brands created by Hans Wilsdorf, the Rolex founder, during the early 20th century.
