Hobson May Collection has dated this piece to the Victorian era.
This has been thoroughly treated for peace of mind. These are not easily visible and do not detract from this beautiful and unusual object. In the 19th Century when needlework was a major pastime for ladies, a fine frame of this quality and decorative standard would certainly been the property of a lady of substance. A rare survivor of a more gentle age.
