Date of manufacture: 18th Century

This is a great example of an 18th century Oak clerk's desk with a beautiful colour and patina built from years of use. The desk stands on Square legs with an inside chamfer indicative of the late 18th century. There are ink stains to the top and front of the desk which in my opinion add character to the piece and would be a shame to remove. These marks are shown in the photos.
Initials RCM can be found on the top and the front. The top lifts to be supported by an oak stay. There are marks inside the desk evidencing that there was once wooden dividers. The fretted spandrels are original.
This piece would work wonderfully for storage of hats and gloves in a hallway or porch and would compliment any home.
Many thanks for viewing this piece and please contact me for any further information. Deliveries are free within a 60 mile radius.
