In A Nutshell Antiques and Interiors has dated this piece to the Victorian era.
The drawers are graduated in size from top to bottom and all have their original turned knobs. It is a clean and sturdy set of drawers with a nice rich patina and lovely grain on the drawer fronts.
It is in good condition for its age. The drawers are clean and tidy and all open well. There are the usual small signs of wear and age, a few marks and stains on the top but nothing detrimental or untoward. The sides are made of two planks and on the one side the planks have shrunk and a small split has opened up between them (see photo) but they still display very well and this doesn't detract from their overall appearance.
