Conti of Maiiling, Kent Georgian Mercury Barometer

Description

A Georgian Regency period mercury wheel barometer. A larger 10" dial example. A fine mahogany case with original brass finial to the swan-neck pediment. Silvered engraved dials to the hygrometer, main dial, thermometer and level marked 'C A Conti Town Malling Kent'. A cast brass bezel with convex glass and butlers convex mirrir with ebonised surround. Circa 1825.

Conti of Malling in Kent is recorded in Banfields 'Barometer Makers and Retailers' book as working from 1815.
