1890. Six large hooks for hats and coats etc over a bevelled mirror, hinge front glove box with another smaller hook on the side, and stick or umbrella stand with removable metal drip tray. Also featuring a low seat with a single oak lined drawer below. Striking design, with an overhanging cornice on pierced brackets, beautiful repoussé copper panel featuring a design of stylised plant forms (typical of S&P’s Art Nouveau pieces) over the seat’s long slatted backrest pierced with heart shaped cutaways. Superb condition, original hooks and handles etc. Though the piece is unsigned this design is illustrated on page 21 of the book Shapland and Petter: Arts & Crafts Furniture.
