A Superb 17th Century Charger

Description

A superb 17th century brass charger depicting a profile portrait, possibly of King Henry II of France.

The profile portrait is surrounded by intricate decorations, depicting intertwining foliage and birds to the outer rim with punch work decoration in between.

To the rear of the charger there is a lovely patinated back and underneath the roll of the rim, there resides an iron ring which runs the diameter of the charger.

The overall condition is excellent.
