A Superb Regency Cut Glass Bonboniere

19th century
Description

A stunning cut glass bonboniere from the Regency period. This rare piece has a goblet shaped body with extensive hobnail cutting and fan cutting to the rim. This design is continued on the lid, where there is a star cut finial. A sign of high quality is that the cutting extends right across the base area echoing the finial with a fabulous cut star. Bonboniere's were high quality items for the Regency table containing bonbons or sweetmeats and are sought after today. Dimensions below.

Condition :- Very good, with no large chips or cracks. There is one very minor chip to the edge of one of the fan cuts. This is pictured and commensurate with age and use.

Origin :- Anglo/Irish

Date :- c1830.
