Tall Secretaire Chest of Drawers C.1860.

19th century
Description

Mid 19th.c. French walnut secretaire chest of drawers and writing desk c.1860. Useful narrow dimensions, just 29" wide. Original and well figured red marble top set within a thumb moulded edge. Single drawer in the top over two dummy drawer fronts which open to form a leather top writing slope. Fitted bird’s eye maple lined interior with a shelf and three small mahogany lines drawers for stationery etc. Four more working drawers below including an extra deep bottom drawer which extends into the plinth. Canted front corners, raised mouldings and a shaped plinth on slim feet pads. Drawer fronts are walnut veneered onto oak with oak drawer linings. Excellent condition with original leather and locks. Cleaned and polished in our workshops. Keys supplied.
