The clock is formed as a four pillar portico, the movement mounted in a drum with the ormolu pendulum swinging gently below. To the top is a marble urn and along the front are decorative chains.

Candelabra are conforming in style with two acanthus branches and pineapple snuffers that sit in the middle sconce when not in use. The dial is porcelain enamel on copper with delicate floral swags between the numbers. It is complete with it's original finely fretted gilt hands.

The French movement is of high quality and is by A. D. Mougin. It is in excellent clean and running condition. Ormolu pendulum is a original and depicts Mithras, the sun-god, who conquers all demons of darkness within a sun burst. It runs for 8 days and strikes the hours and halves on a bell. Click the video clip below to hear the bell and watch the clock running!

Condition of the case is excellent, the original gilding is beautifully clean and bright with hardly any wear or discolouration and there are no losses. The marble is very good with a good polish, slight nibbles to the edges. One of candelabra has a chip to the rear of the base and one has a chip to the rear of the column (see the pictures below). The dial is also in excellent condition with no damage.
