Shaun King Antiques has dated this piece to the 1860s.
He is mentioned in Shakespeare's 1597 play 'The Merry Wives of Windsor'. The Tree, which became known as 'Herne's Oak', was blown down on 31st August 1863 and this lovely POCKET WATCH STAND was carved from its timber.
