A beautiful Chinese abacus in a padded red box painted and lacquered with dragons and bats. The box has decorative brass corner plates and a brass escutcheon. The abacus with red counters is surrounded by a wooden frame with brass corner plates. This 19th Century box has the original lining with scholars, musicians and Chinese characters and is in very good condition. This decorative box would make a very special gift or an eye catching display item.
