Description

A lovely porcelain clock in the style of the royal porcelain factories of Vienna. The French numbered movement striking a bell has been fully overhauled in our workshop and comes with a full three year guarantee.
The clock "case" has been extensively hand finished with pictorial panels and the Kaufmann painting on the front is of a good quality. Although it is named Kaufmann, the painting is a copy of a piece by the late 18th century neoclassical painter Angelica Kauffman (1741-1807). She had a successful career in London and Rome and her work can be seen in Hampton Court and numerous museums.
The proportions of this clock are very pleasing and it does make a lovely change from the brass and wooden clocks that we all know.
This clock dates from the second half of the 19th century.
