Description

Extraordinary pair of large Arts & Crafts pokerwork panels with repoussé borders c.1900. Solid birch panels measuring 45? x 29? with beautiful pokerwork designs of a golden pheasant and a peacock in a formal garden. Coloured stains have been used to enhance the design which is further embellished with tiny brass studs and coloured lacquer (on the peacock). Monogrammed with the initials LA to each. Both panels feature repoussé or chased brass borders with raised pattern of stylised plant forms, applied with scores of brass studs to the edges. Excellent original condition.
