Elmgarden has dated this piece to the Victorian era.
The side columns are beautifully carved there are carved masks and fruits of the forest on either side, and if you look at the frieze beneath the top you can see at the face of the Green Man, the top has a carved moulding which matches the shelf fronts and the carving on the upper edge of the plinth

The bookcase is in excellent original condition and the shelves are adjustable
This excellent piece of Classic Carved Oak Furniture would work very well in your Living room, Office or study
The Bookcase is 38” wide, 46” high and it is 13” deep
