This is an antique, Victorian station chair dating to c.1850.

Raised on ring turned front legs and swept, square section rear legs united by a strong 'A' stretcher, of particular interest are the through joints featuring split tenons. Additional strength is gained from the well executed. later, iron bracing to the rear legs.

The rear legs rise continuously into the bowed crest rail with a four lath splat configuration.
Robust, modest and yet charming, this chair is delivered waxed, polished and ready for the home.
