Quiet Street Antiques of Bath has dated this piece to the 1890s.
The top, with its original brass gallery, rolls back to reveal the well fitted interior with three small drawers and row of six pigeonholes, whilst the original blind-tooled leather writing surface slides forward.

To the frieze below are two oak-lined drawers, also inlaid with marquetry to the fronts, and it is raised on marquetry-inlaid tapering legs with original castors. Glorious colour and patina ~ a most impressive piece of very high quality furniture.
