Description

A charming, compact and very pretty late 19th century LADY'S SEWING BOX in wonderful original condition. The boulle-work box is beautifully inlaid with engraved brass into the pink background and opens to reveal the fully fitted interior with all its original twelve implements ~ many of which are silver. These include: scissors; silver pencil; pair of silver thimbles; needle-case; silver toothpick etc., whilst the lid is lined with padded silk. The hinges and lock are all of engraved brass and it is complete with its original (working) key. Very pretty. 8ins (20cms) wide.
