A splendid Japanese Meiji period Imperial Satsuma vase of gourd form decorated with a continuous spray of flowers around the body in imperial blue, turquoise and red with gilt outlining, the vase has a ribbed waist and is finished with detailed border work around the rim and foot. In excellent condition throughout with no damage or restoration it stands 7 ¼ inches tall.
