American Cherrywood Windsor Chair Circa 1850

19th century
Description

Rare American New England solid cherrywood fan back windsor chair with turned side uprights to back. Finely turned legs united with plain side stretchers and turned central stretcher. Shaped seat. All in superb un-touched original condition with no breaks or repairs. All solid and sound. Wonderful rich cherry colour with great waxed patina. See similar chair illustrated in 'The Windsor Chair' by Thomas Ormsbee, (published New York).

Size; 37" high, 21" wide at top rail, 17" deep. Seat height 19"
