Distinctive pierced decoration of stylized plant forms, Gothic and Oriental elements combined in a manner typical of Dresser’s unique work. With a lozenge mark to the rear. With an old break to the tip of central support for the umbrella/stick rail. Otherwise very good condition, presented as found with later overpainting.

These stands were produced by both the Coalbrookdale and Falkirk foundries and the design is featured in Michael Whiteway’s book on Christopher Dresser, published by the V&A Museum.
