A fine and stunning original antique French boudoir clock by the famous maker Japy Freres.
The ormolu is in stunning, untouched, original condition. Porcelain has a blue ground and is delicately painted with a delightful scene of a gentleman and ladies seated in a country setting.

The dial has a tranquil scene of a house by a lake and the urn is decorated with the finest flowers and a butterfly. Delicate 'jewel' are applied as half hour markers between the lettering and the urn has white 'jewels' around the painted panel.

The French movement is of very high quality as one would expect of Japy Freres. It has the Japy Freres 'Grande Medaille d'Honneur' mark on the movement backplate. It is in excellent clean and running condition having been fully serviced by our clockmaker. Pendulum is original. It runs for 8 days on one wind and strikes the hours and halves on a bell. We have a video available of the clock running, please ask.

Condition of the case is superb, original condition with a clean and bright finish, there is some very minor wear to the original gilding and some occasional slight discolouration. The porcelain is in excellent condition with no damage and the vast majority of the over-glaze gilt decoration present. The dial red jewels are all present but some of the white jewels on the urn are missing. The is a fine and very decorative clock to add to your collection.
