Impressive C19th Dutch Walnut and Painted Leather Chest on Stand; the well figured walnut lid with bookmatched raised panel top and wide crossbanded chamfered border above a bold gross grained ogee moulded frieze; the impressive oil painted front depicting a peacock, turkey and cockrel and pigeons in a landscape setting with a classical stone wall. The left side panel painted with two ducks, one in flight, with their chicks. The right side with a turkey and pheasant. The sides with original brass carrying handles and all panels with close brass studding. The back with a plain brown leather panel. The stand with a crossgrain moulded frieze raised on turned tapering legs. With original working lock and key.
