A Fine Quality Rosewood Regency Period Library Table.

19th century
Description

A fine quality rosewood Regency Period library table. Having a rectangular top veneered in beautifully figured rosewood with rounded corners, above two mahogany and cedar lined drawers with Cape and Collinson locks ( a company who supplied Gillows with locks around this period). The drawers are flanked by fine acanthus carved brackets. Supported on solid rosewood carved and turned column supports with cabriole legs, claw and ball feet and concealed brass castors. This table is not stamped but is certainly of the quality of a premier cabinet maker such as Gillows and has some known Gillows features. England circa 1820-1830
