~ French - Circa 1880 ~
~~ Excellent condition, fully overhauled and running ~~
Porcelain has a pompadour blue ground and each piece is delicately decorated with floral swags and over glaze gilt decoration. The front panel incorporates the dial which is decorated with a bird and a swag of flowers. Below the dial, and part of the same porcelain panel, is a beautifully painted cherub. The case itself is classical in style with goddess pillars to each side of the dial, urns to the sides and an elegant handled urn to the top. The reverse of the porcelain is signed by the artist and the rear of the case is signed for the case maker 'Charles'.

The French movement is of very high quality and is in excellent clean and running condition having been fully serviced by our clockmaker. Pendulum is original. It runs for 8 days and strikes the hours and halves on a bell. Click the video clip below to hear the bell and watch the clock running!

Condition of the case is very good, there is wear to the gilding and some slight bubbling or flaking. The porcelain is in excellent condition with no chips or scratches. The over glaze gilt decoration is also very well preserved with only some very minor rubbing.

Complete with original pendulum, bell and a suitable key. Full setting up instructions supplied if required.
