ISADORE BONHEUR: a charming BRONZE SCULPTURE group of two Merino sheep (a ram and a ewe) close to each other and standing in a pasture. Finely modelled and beautifully detailed, this excellent animalier group is signed within the integral bronze base. 12ins (30.5cms) wide.

***Isadore Jules Bonheur (France, 1827-1901) was a highly distinguised "animalier" bronze sculptor who in his early years worked closely with his equally famous sister, Rosa.
