Extraordinary pair of large late 19th.c. French easy armchairs retaining their original upholstery. Raked and sprung backs with bolster cushion headrests over upholstered arms and deep sprung seats. Bottle green velvet covers with an unusual woven centre panel across the backs and seats. Remarkable and original tassel braid below the arms and seats with matching tassels to the sides of the headrests. Turned oak arm supports and legs retaining the original wooden castors. Damage and previous repairs to the upholstery on the seats beside the arm supports on both chairs, otherwise very good original condition.
