The box is superb quality and is in good condition for its age. It has been lightly cleaned and polished and it displays very well inside and out. There are some minor chips and shrinkage splits around the exterior of the box but nothing major that detracts from the overall appearance (see photos). The top of the glass inkwell is chipped and there is some wear to the velvet writing surface along the crease but overall it displays very well.
