A Superb Silver Gilt and Enamel Sewing Necessaire

This is a superb sewing necessaire with a hallmarked silver gilt body, embellished with guilloche enamel. The tools comprise a matching thimble (which screws on to make a lid) a three cotton spool and a central needle case. The silver gilt case is cylindrical in shape and tis decorated in pale blue guilloche enamel. The thimble matches and has twin bands of black enamel to complete the decoration. A fabulous and very rare compendium for the sewing enthusiast or collector. Antique sewing items are always in great demand and this is a lovely and rather unusual example. Dimensions below.
