A Victorian Sampson Morden Silver Dog Whistle

A good silver dog whistle from the Victorian era, by the great Sampson Morden. This handsome piece is of good size, works perfectly and has an attaching ring for a fob chain or chatelaine. A good collector's item, still usable today. Dimensions below.

Condition :- Good, with no splits or holes. There is a dent to the underside (shown in photo), commensurate with age and use. The whistle works well.

Hallmarks :- Soft with some losses. Sterling lion, Maker's mark and Victorian duty mark visible.

Date :- c London 1880.

Length :- 3.75 cms.

Width :- 2 cms. (widest point).
