A Small Burr Walnut Herring Bone Banded 18th Century Bureau.

Description

A small burr walnut herring bone banded 18th Century bureau. The top is veneered in burr walnut with herringbone banding, as is the fall front having the original brass escutcheon and key, which opens to reveal pigeon holes and drawers. With three oak lined drawers again with herringbone banding, burr walnut fronts and the original pierced handles and escutcheons. Having walnut veneered sides and supported on shaped bracket feet. English circa 1720-1740

Dimensions: 25" wide x 18" deep x 37" high

Condition: This bureau is in wonderful condition, cleaned and waxed. This piece has been reduced in size probably in the 19th Century using the original elements of a larger bureau
