Georgian Mahogany Secretaire Bookcase

Description

A good quality early 19th.Century mahogany secretaire bookcase dating from circa 1820. The upper section having a dentil cornice above two wonderful astragal glazed doors with carved urns, harebells, drapes, patrae and Prince of Wales feathers. The interior having 3 mahogany faced adjustable shelves and working lock and key. The base section having a secretaire drawer with applied mouldings, original brass handles and opens to a well fitted interior with an arrangement of 6 mahogany faced drawers with turned pulls and shaped pigeon holes. Below are 2 panelled doors again with applied mouldings which open to reveal 2 mahogany faced pull out slides and the whole stands on the original off set shaped bracket feet. In very good condition with working locks and key. Transports in 3 pieces. Dimensions:- Height…84.5''/ 214cm. Width....49''/ 125cm. Depth of Base...21''/ 53cm. Interior Shelf Depth…11.5’’/ 29cm.
