Description

A Scottish Victorian longcase clock. A good quality mahogany case with choice flame veneers. A convex trunk door with side columns. A swan-neck hood pediment with central brass finial. Brass capped hood columns. A recessed base plinth panel with shaped feet. An attractive arched painted dial with lake scene to the arch. Floral dial corners with the original gold leaf. A seconds dial and date ring. An 8-day duration mechanism striking the hours on a bell. An original pair of Scottish flat fronted cast weights.

William J Penfold of Annan is recorded in Whytes' 'Scottish Clock and Watchmakers' book as working from 1860-1878.
