Description

A fine quality bronze and sienna marble French mantel clock circa 1890, retailed by Hamilton and Inches of Edinburgh.

The beautifully patinated solid bronze cherubs depicting a male cherub holding bunch of grapes and a female cherub looking fondly at a bronze Cavalier King Charles Spaniel dog. The shaped and moulded Sienna marble base in perfect condition standing on bronze toupee feet.

The circular convex enamelled dial with floral swag decoration and Arabic numerals signed to the centre for the retailer Hamilton and inches, decorative fretted gilded hands.

The fully restored fine quality 8 day French twin barrel spring driven movement with a balance escapement, striking the hours and half hour on a single bell - stamped A1 and numbered 3644. the dial surrounded by a cast bronze decorated pattern bezel with a convex glass.

This high quality mantel clock is in fine original condition with the movement fully restored by our FBHI and Worshipful Clockmakers Company awarded horologist.
